Interim Vice Provost, Dr. Mary Glenn, Returning to Anthropology

Interim Vice Provost, Dr. Mary Glenn, will return in January 2018 to a faculty position in her home Department of Anthropology.  Professor Glenn has served as the Interim Vice Provost since Summer 2016.

In her capacity as Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate and Graduate Studies, Mary has been a fierce advocate for inclusive student success, and has argued passionately for a renewed focus on student retention and timely graduation.  During her time as Interim Vice Provost, Mary dedicated herself to refining our approach to academic program review and the cycle of continuous improvement. In addition, Mary has provided outstanding leadership for HSU's WSCUC/WASC self-study and the reaffirming accreditation processes.  She has worked tirelessly to create synergy and improve communication across Departments and Divisions. Most recently, Mary integrated the building of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) into Academic Programs, and immediately began the work of establishing stronger ties between the CTL, the Academic and Career Advising Center, the Learning Center, and RAMP to support the goal of student success in Academic Affairs.

On personal level, I will miss Mary's tenacity and enthusiasm for making things work - and for being a tireless champion of the great things we do for our students at HSU. Please join me in wishing her the best as she returns to her first love of teaching and research.

Very sincerely,

Dr. Alex Enyedi
