SUBJECT: Humboldt State University Forestry Advisory Committee
I. Charge of the Committee
- The Forestry program at Humboldt State University undergoes periodic curriculum
revisions and practices long- and short-range planning. The Department of Forestry can
benefit in these exercises by having input from its multiple stakeholders. To this end, at
the recommendation of the Department of Forestry, and as approved by the University
Executive Committee, the Humboldt State University Forestry Advisory Committee has
been established. The Committee is particularly encouraged to provide curricular and
policy input for the Department's five-year planning process, periodic Program Review
and Society of American Foresters accreditation.
II. Membership
- The Chair of the Committee shall be elected by the membership, and shall serve from one
to five years, as desired by the individual.
- The Committee shall consist of approximately 20 members. All members of the
Committee shall be graduate foresters or forestry students. They represent federal and state
government agencies, forest product industries, forestry educators, and consulting foresters.
The term of office shall be one to five years, as desired by the members.
- The appointing authority for the Humboldt State University Forestry Advisory Committee
shall be the Dean for the College of Natural Resources and Sciences.
