Provost Communication, Monday, April 8, 2024

Hello, and happy Monday. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. And what a busy weekend it was. Saturday was filled with exciting events including the Trinity Children’s Center and Child Development Lab Ribbon Cutting, the 14th Annual Cal Poly Humboldt California Big Time and Social Gathering, and the 38th Annual Athletics Auction and Dinner to name a few. It was great to see so many of you enjoying time in our community.

Enrollment Update

Please find the latest Enrollment Target Progress Report here, which was prepared by the Enrollment Target Progress team to provide insight into application, admit, and deposit activity through March 31, 2024. This report includes detailed information, as well as context for the current status and strategic work underway to continue our push towards targets. We have outpaced last year’s to date (YTD) performance in total application volume, as well as First-time undergraduate (FTUG), upper-division transfer, returning undergraduate, master's, credential, and second bachelor's applications. We also had a strong showing at our recent Preview (and indicators of another strong turnout for next weekend's Preview) that has been driving confirmation and deposit activity.

Director of Academic Resources Candidate Open Forum Recordings

You can watch the Open Forum recordings for candidates Christopher Wehan (here) and Nicole Alvarado (here). They were asked to share their thought process and the steps they would engage stakeholders to address the issue of reducing the overall budget while selectively investing in growing academic programs. Please use this form to share your feedback on the candidates from the open forums or any of the engagement opportunities that you participated in.

Thanks and have a great week ahead.
