Provost Communication, Monday, January 22, 2024

Good morning and happy Monday. I hope you had a nice weekend.

Welcome Back AMP Low Degree Conferring Program World Cafe Feedback

As promised, the feedback collected from the Academic Affairs Welcome Back on January 12, 2024, is located here. I will continue to collect feedback about the low-degree conferring programs process to inform the utilization of metrics and evaluative tools through the first week of February 2024. This topic was discussed at last week’s Senex meeting and is scheduled to be discussed at an upcoming labor relations meeting, office of academic affairs leadership meeting, and provost-council of chairs meeting. In early February, I will convene with the Academic Affairs leadership team to make a final decision regarding the utilization of metrics, action planning activities, and timelines. I continue to welcome your feedback and engagement.

Research and Creative Projects for Equity and Justice AY 23-24 Grant Program

The Research and Creative Projects for Equity and Justice (RCPEJ) grant program, funded by Cal Poly Humboldt Sponsored Programs Foundation (SPF) & the Cal Poly Humboldt Foundation, supports research and scholarship that benefits historically marginalized communities served by Cal Poly Humboldt, with a focus on black, indigenous, and other people of color (BIPOC). All proposals should be led by or in authentic partnership with those who experience inequities caused by systemic racism. This fund is focused on supporting research, scholarship, and creative activities that benefit BIPOC communities in our region, including direct support for faculty and students at Humboldt who participate in research, scholarship, and creative activities.

The supported activities could be focused on:

● Catalyzing future research by supporting the development of new or existing projects;
