3D Digital Herbarium wins the Best Emerging Technology Award 2024

Congratulations to AJ Bealum, Team Flora, the Library, and everyone supporting the 3D Digital Herbarium for winning the Reference and User Services Association's (RUSA) Best Emerging Technology Award from the American Library Association (ALA) in recognition of a technology application that directly benefits library users. The committee found 3D Digital Herbarium to be an innovative method for advancing the work of herbariums through 3D imaging. The committee found the site easy to use and accessible, and most importantly, engaging for the viewer, but also the students involved. To view the announcement click here. NACADA Review Overview Party Thursday, April 11, 2024, 2 pm-4 pm

The Advising Center’s “Excellence in Advising Review” is underway. This is a comprehensive self-study involving a look at which aspects of our advising we can improve and the aspects we can celebrate based on the 9 conditions for excellence in advising as defined by the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). This review is being conducted in partnership with the Chancellor's Office, 7 other CSUs, and representatives from NACADA. Over 30 staff, faculty, and administrators from across the campus have been a part of our steering committees and the committees assigned to provide a self-study for each of the NACADA Conditions. We are excited to share about this work with the campus and are hosting a party.  

The information portion of the event will be offered in a hybrid modality and will be recorded, but please come in person to Goodwin Forum from 2 pm-4 pm tomorrow April 11, 2024.  Food and refreshments will be provided. Dr. Benjamin Norris, our Liaison from NACADA and a Faculty Member at Frostburg State University in Maryland! We know it is a busy time and not everyone will be able to make it, but we are excited to see any of you who can. Digital Humanities Speakers Series

The Center for Teaching & Learning and the Digital Humanities Faculty Learning Community have been hosting a series of informal brown bag presentations about incorporating digital humanities practices into the classroom and collaborating with community partners. The remaining speakers in the series and dates are as follows:
