Hello and happy Wednesday,

I hope you all are having a good week!

Enrollment Target and Application Progress Update

Hats off to the Enrollment Management and Student Success team for their great work. As part of their strategy to keep us updated, here is the most recent Enrollment to Target Update which focuses on enrollment progress compared to targets for Fall 2024. As part of this approach, newly developed IRAR dashboards allow the team to track not only year-to-date(YTD) progress in new student enrollment but progress to funnel targets that are tied to ultimate enrollment targets. While the CSU’s recent enrollment recalibration process has reduced our annual FTES target to 7,375 it is important to note that even meeting our target fall headcount of 7,550 will not allow us to meet that FTES target in the coming year. The good news is that our application numbers are strong at 19,246 and as of today just 206 below last year's 19,452 which was a record year for us. With much stronger yield strategies in place, there is a lot to be hopeful about.

Save the Date: University Resources and Planning Committee (URPC) Open Forum on March 25, 2024 at 1 pm

The URPC will hold a Spring Open Forum on March 25, 2024 at 1 pm (location to be determined). The goal of the Open Forum will be to share information about planning and strategy to address budget reductions and solicit feedback that may inform the URPC budget recommendation to the President at the conclusion of the semester. More information to follow.

Lora Webb Nichols Exhibition in the Reese Bullen Gallery

Please check out this exhibition, curated by Art + Film Department Chair and Professor Nicole Jean Hill.  So many amazing current and former Cal Poly Humboldt students have assisted with this project since 2013. The exhibition also would not be possible without the support of many Cal Poly Humboldt staff and faculty over the years.

The exhibition features works by photographer Lora Webb Nichols (1883-1962) who created and collected approximately 24,000 negatives throughout her lifetime in the mining town of Encampment. The images chronicle the domestic, social, and economic aspects of the sparsely populated frontier of south-central Wyoming.

Nicole Jean Hill will give a Curator talk on Wednesday, March 6th at 5 pm in ArtB 102 during the opening reception. All are welcome! The gallery is open Wednesday/Thursday 12 pm-6 pm, Friday 11 am-5 pm, Saturday 11 am-2 pm. Closed Sunday-Tuesday.  Also open via appointment, please contact the Gallery Director at rbg@humboldt.edu, or call 707-826-5818. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Have a terrific Wednesday.
