Provost Communnication, Wednesday, December 13, 2023

Hello and Happy Wednesday,

I hope that finals week is going well for you, your colleagues and our students. I am looking forward to commencement as I hope you are as well.

Fall Commencement is this Friday December 15, 2023

Thanks to all of the faculty and staff who have registered to participate in the Fall 2023 Commencement. Seeing you there means a lot to our students. As a reminder, there will be two commencement ceremonies held in the Lumberjack Arena. The College of Professional Studies and the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences will have a combined ceremony beginning at 1:00pm. The College of Natural Resources and Sciences ceremony will be held at 3:30pm. Can’t wait to see you there and celebrate our graduates and their families.

Congratulations to the Cal Poly Humboldt Men’s Rugby Team who had another amazing season this year and placed third at Nationals this past weekend in Houston. Well done! If you see them around proudly wearing their medals, please tell them congrats!

The Accessibility Resource Center is ready to get started on making your Spring course materials accessible. Avoid the rush and contact the Accessibility Resource Center today, either by filling out the accessible materials request form or emailing them at arc@humboldt.edu.

Save the Dates: Innovation Summit May 1-2, 2024 and IdeaFest May 3, 2024

Please save the date for Innovation Summit 2024, May 1 - May 2, 2024, which will be held in the Cal Poly Humboldt Library. The theme of the Innovation Summit 2024 is EdTech & Learning Skills in Digital Environments. Brief keynote presentations will focus on the innovative vision of EdTech services, the problems they are focused on solving, and lessons learned. In addition, presentations will also focus on how learning skills in digital environments are evolving. Together, academic and public libraries, information technology, non-profits, and EdTech have an opportunity to share insights and collaborate to address the needs of lifelong learners.

After the Innovation Summit, please join us on May 3, 2024, for the 11th Annual IdeaFest in the Library! A celebration of research and creative projects!
