Provost's Communication - November 14, 2022

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a restful three-day weekend and had an opportunity to thank the veterans in your lives for their service. A belated note of gratitude to our faculty, staff and students who are veterans. A particular shout out to President Jackson and Dean of the CAHSS Jeff Crane for their service.

Welcome to our New Professional Advisors

As many of you are aware, we have been in the process of recruiting and hiring several professional advisors to help increase the support of our students. The first round of advisor hiring officially concluded last week with five successful Academic and Career Advising Center (ACAC) advisor hires. They include:

Shannon Berge (Art/Film)

Emma Davis (Social Work)

Alison Hodges (Engineering)

Sarah Peters Gonzalez (Applied Health and Psychology)

Timothy Thomas (January 2023) (CNRS)

ACAC is excited to welcome its new team members to their first round table tomorrow.  They have also been working to set up times to meet with partner departments throughout the next few weeks and thanks to everyone for participating in that process.

There will be a second round of advertising for the three remaining unfilled advisor positions in the coming weeks and the plan is for one advisor to be allocated to each college for additional advising support. ACAC wishes to extend a big thank you to everyone who was able to help on the search committee and attend open forums, and to those who will be joining them to provide training or opportunities to connect.
