Provost's Communication - October 24, 2022

Hello everyone,

I hope your Monday is getting off to a great start. Please, please, please read the fall commencement participation information very carefully. We are in need of many more faculty and staff to participate in fall commencement. Your engagement is incredibly meaningful to our graduates. Thank you in advance.

Fall Commencement Participation and Regalia Reimbursement

Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the fall commencement ceremony on Friday, December 16, 2022, by walking in the processional and being seated in the faculty/staff section. Those needing to order regalia can do so with Herff Jones but the deadline to order regalia to be received in time for the event is Friday, October 28, 2022.

To support your participation in commencement, we have established a process for reimbursing employees for the cost of renting regalia. Please complete this form to indicate your intention to submit a receipt for reimbursement of the actual rental cost. Your request will be processed after your receipt is received. Please also register your participation by Friday, November 18, 2022.

GI 2025 Virtual Convening: Friday, October 28, 2022, from 11 am-12 pm

This year’s virtual Graduation Initiative 2025 Convening is to be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 11:00 am to noon and the convening theme, Transformational Change One Student at a Time, reminds us that even the smallest of actions have a big impact on our student's lives. This annual gathering is a unique opportunity for the CSU community to celebrate our collective efforts to support student success. At the center of those collective efforts are our students who embody the CSU spirit and persevere to achieve their goals. Their inspirational stories remind us that regardless of our role on campus – whether as faculty, staff or administrator – we make a positive impact on our students' lives. At the convening, you will hear from our students who will share their stories of success through the CSU – and highlight those who have helped them along the way! We will also share updates on our progress in reaching our Graduation Initiative 2025 goals. Please join us for this celebration. You can register on the event website at www.calstate.edu/GradInitiative2025Convening.

Take good care,

--
