Applications for Emeritus Status Reminder

Applications for Emeritus Status for Tenured Faculty, Lecturers, Staff and Administrators are due to the University Senate Office from the retiree’s nominator no later than September 1, 2022, for the Fall semester cycle. Emeritus Status is granted by the approval of a simple majority of the University Senate membership. More information including how to apply for Emeritus status can be found on the Humboldt-ERFSA website.

 

Learning Center Services

Heading into the second week of the semester is a great time to remind everyone of the Learning Center Services designed to support the success of our students. There are a number services, new and existing, that are being offered including:

  • Online Learning Strategies Video Workshops through Student Lingo 

  • Expanded learning tools on our digital resources webpage

  • After-hours online tutoring for math, statistics, writing, and logic through NetTutor (pilot coming soon!)

  • Scheduling software for students to easily search for tutors and make appointments online

  • Supplemental Instruction (SI) for Psych Stats (Psyc 109)

  • New point person for tutoring coordination: Michele Miyamoto is now coordinating tutoring, peer coaching, and referrals

  • Feedback form on our homepage

Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities Program (RSCA) AY 22/23

Interim Chancellor Koester has approved the research, scholarly and creative activities (RSCA) award program for faculty for the 2022-2023 academic year. All members of Unit 3 - Faculty, Librarians, Coaches, and Counselors are eligible to compete for funding from this program. RSCA awards are intended as one-time grants, not as a sole or continuing source of support for a particular line of professional activity. Higher priority will be given to:

  • Individuals who have not received RSCA funding in the past three years

  • Probationary, tenure track faculty at critical stages of their careers, during which research support is essential

 

Submission Deadline: September 29, 2022 by 11:59pm

Award Cycle: Academic Year: 2022-2023

Discipline/Subject Area: All

Funding Available: $44,603

Funding Proposal Levels: Proposals should be submitted by sole principal investigators to fund projects in the amount of $3,000-$5,000 total.

Faculty Led Study Abroad - Program Renewals Reminder

The College of Extended Education & Global Engagement is now accepting renewal proposals for Faculty-Led Study Abroad Programs (FLSAP) for summer 2023. The deadline for FLSA renewal proposals (established programs with current contracts on file) for Summer 2023 is September 15th, 2022
