CTL Learning Opportunities

The Center for Teaching and Learning has many opportunities to engage in ongoing professional development this fall. Use this link to sign up for one or more of their upcoming workshops or teaching talks. For self-paced workshops and anytime, anywhere learning, you can also self-enroll in the CTL Instructional Hub here.

Fall 2022 Faculty Book Circle

Please consider signing up for the Fall 2022 Faculty Book Circle: Fresh Banana Leaves: Healing Indigenous Landscapes Through Indigenous Science by Dr. Jessica Hernandez, hosted by the Native American Studies Department, and the Sustainability Office, and coordinated by TEK faculty fellow Dr. Kaitlin Reed. As with previous book circles, this one is an opportunity for faculty at Cal Poly Humboldt to remain at the cutting edge of sustainability, social justice, and community environmental research. All disciplines are invited to creatively engage with this challenge. Book circle sessions will be on Monday from 8:30-10:00 am beginning on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Participants do not have to buy the book, it will be provided! The text can also be found through the Library here. Faculty will be asked to give their informed consent for participating as research subjects in summary findings from the book circle so that coordinators may produce and widely share lessons learned through University landscapes and Tribal nations. Space is limited, so please register to join this book circle today at this link.

Well Done!

Please congratulate Brandilynn Villarreal, Kimberly Vincent-Layton, Edelmira Reynoso, Kayla Begay, and Kimberly White for their most recent article "Do Students Perceive Faculty as Responsible for Equitable Learning Environments? Results from a Mixed-Methods Study", published in Higher Education Research & Development. Available here. (open-access article coming soon!)

Have a wonderful rest of your week.
